An Ursuline for 43 years, Vianney now lives in Shotton North Wales, with two other sisters; they are part of the North West Cluster community.

After teaching in Chester, Westgate and Wimbledon, she moved into a small community, in an area of high unemployment.

A small part of her ministry has been, and remains, in the parish and local community; the major part is in the area of social justice exercised through CAFOD (The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development).

Vianneys friend is Gemma.

Vianney says, Gemma has been a missionary for nearly twenty years; and an Ursuline for 51 years. We met in the community of Wimbledon.

Gemma belongs to the community of Krugersdrop. She has been active in Education - responsible for staff in the black townships - taught at various levels, including training teachers in a college in Botswana.

She now spends her days caring for the older sisters in the community, those whose minds and bodies are frail.

She buys and begs for vegetables in the local market to make soup for the poor in the squatter camps and she has recently become involved with Women for Peace, helping those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
